HELP!!! - no power to agp????

    hiya guys, slight problem...

brand new out of the box DFI 865PE infiity m/b with P4 intel 2.8ghz CPU...

installed into rig, hook up zalman reserator water block (reason for getting said MOBO - old one didnt have holes )

turn reserator on - no leaks and everything ok.

turn on PC - no display (light flashing on TFT monitor, check cable when unplugged) after hours of trying and fiddling with EVERYTHING i notice that when i turn the pc on the fan on GFX card does half a spin then stops.

btw, GFX card: Aopen 5700LE personal cinema, only a few weeks old.
have also tried with old MSI GF4 TI4200 - same thing but havent verified the fan thing - has zalman passive heatpipe cooler

i now the m/b only supports agp of 1.5v, but i dont get it.. any thoughts??

Does that graphics card require a molex connector? If so, check its in/in securely

Do both cards work fine in another machine? You'd need to narrow it down to the mobo tbh and thats the best way to do it.

Are you sure you have plugged the 4 pin +12v connector correctly to the motherboard, that can cause that sort of problem I think.

Could it be that the graphics cards are 3.3v AGP cards. this is taken from the DFI website

"Supports 1.5V AGP 8x (2.13GB/sec.) and AGP 4x(1066MB/sec.) for 3D graphics applications (AGP 2x and 3.3V AGP card are not supported)"

    looked at that.
the 5700LE supports 0.8v, 1.5v and 3.3v - there is no way on gfx card to change it (jumper wise) so assuming it does it automatically

Your picture of the scratch isn't very sharp but that could easily be the problem I'm afraid. Does it look like the traces underneath are broken?

yeah... there are 2 line: one going to the nearest track, the other going over that track and onto the next one.

ive requested and RMI from DFI... waiting to get a response

(ps, the photo was taken with my phone.. and it was the best photo i could get)
