Optimal Memory
I am putting a new system together and would like some opinions regarding which memory i should use i only want 16GB the other components are as follows
Asus Sabertooth 990FX
AMD 8350
Corsair TX850M
Noctua NH-D14
Due to the size of the cooler the memory needs to be low profile or have removable heat spreaders

Re: Optimal Memory
EDIT: The RAM snootyjim posted are better, I missed those

Re: Optimal Memory
Personally, I'd be inclined to get 16GB in two sticks.
These might be a nice option, especially as they're not as tall as your average RAM (although if memory serves, they're not technically low profile, despite the name)
They also come in black, but are a lot cheaper in blue at Scan right now.

Re: Optimal Memory
How about some Crucial Ballistix Tactical LP? Properly low profile, 1600MHz, CL8 @ 1.35v. Then vengeance are standard profile - they like to call them low profile just because they don't have stupidly tall heatsinks on them
Anyway, the ballistix are lower voltage (therefore lower power and heat) and lower latency - worth considering, IMNSHO ;)

Re: Optimal Memory
If you do go down that route, there aren't many floating around, but looks like a 16GB kit here: http://www.dabs.com/products/crucial...-cl8-8G34.html

Re: Optimal Memory
My rig looks like yours ish, I used Crucial 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1866Mhz Ballistix Elite Memory Kit CL9 1.5V (I bought 2 x 4gb x2 kits from http://www.ebuyer.com/342445-crucial...edium=products )
