    Re: 3DMark '13 score thread

We need to make the most of it before piggin comes in and takes over.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Your overclocked FX6300 beats my Xeon E3-1220 which is a Core i5 2400 with more L3 cache, and a Core i5 2500K running at stock clockspeeds.

I know I am asking a lot,but is possible to run it at stock on your stock Core i5?? My Xeon E3-1220 is a bit slower than your Core i5 3570K at stock clockspeeds, but I would like to see how an overclocked HD5850 1GB does against a stock HD5870 1GB!!

behold, my mighty onboard ATI 3300 HD http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/139461

fyi, anyone else deciding to run an older ATI card the 4xxx series and earlier.

make sure youve got a copy of the legacy drivers from here. from 12.8 version onwards they've split them up into seperate files.

edit, see scaryjims post further down. i need to read stuff better

The results on the 680's are all similar even though we have different GPU/MEM clocks. Im still tweaking to push a bit more out but dont seem to be stable past 1280 on the GPU. I think Terbinator may have a golden GPU and there is more to come from his card

Physics scores look funky though - my i7 narrowly beats your 920 on the cloud gate physics, but loses badly to it on the ice storm physics...?

EDIT: also, look out for my mega overclocking efforts to try to surpass you on my 785G board with a Phenom II X4 - let the contest ... begin!

I am running the 13.2 BETA2 drivers IIRC. I might update them to the latest ones to see if anything improves, although I doubt it!!

You'd be amazed how capable the stock cooler is CAT - have you not read my review!? It will sound like a 787 taking off though, and with a similar level of fire risk!

I, however, have no such worries, because my 3670K now has one of these securely installed:

k.. theyre still doing drivers but in a seperate file. thats not how i read it when they switched to that method. i thought theyd stopped at 12.6 for good, no more improvements.

i really should read stuff more closely. ill edit my post above to avoid mass confusion about the matter.

5627 for my system as it currently stands; http://www.3dmark.com/fs/99521

    i7 920 @ 3.778GHz, 2GB Gigabyte GTX 670 WindForce 3X @ stock (980MHz core, 1502Mhz mem).

I may have a fiddle later tonight and see if I can break the 6000 barrier.

I am running the 13.2 BETA2 drivers IIRC. I might update them to the latest ones to see if anything improves, although I doubt it!!
I think you will have to live with the stock results

Im probs not going to do anything with the i5 stuff this weekend anyway as my i/o plate hasnt arrived, but i can test out the 5870 on my AMD chip for now.

    Re: 3DMark '13 score thread

too much hassle to swap back to the onboard 3300 and try with the proper drivers
im back to the 7770. your just competing againts yourself new jimbob

    my experiment -

CPU overclocked from 2.8 to 3.1GHz
graphics core from 1100 to 1150 MHz
graphics memory from 1300 to 1350 MHz

not a lot, but as card is pre overclockd, didnt want to stress it too much.

    old results - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/104804
    overclocked results - http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/141098

ice storm goes up 9562 points
    cloud gate goes up 546
    fire strike goes up 50

so still behind Bagnaj in fire strike, whos got a lower clocked card and a lower CPU. absolutely destroy them in every other test.

im assuming Bagnaj has their card in a x16 speed slot. mines just in a x8.
so for DX11 stuff at least my card is being severly bottlenecked, and DX10 just a little bit.

which just goes to show that you need to plug stuff in the right holes or else youll end up hurting yourself.
