would like a low noise deasent cpu cooler, i have not got a clue on where to start!

Damn near silent at low revs (~2000), at high revs though it's like a jet fighter flying through your living room. I swear my PC leans when I have the fan on 5000RPM!
Cools brilliantly though, even on low speeds my CPU doesn't get over 40C! :D
:edit: I normally run my 2500+ at 2.2GHz which'll be faster than a 3000+ at stock anyway.
hello again! any good ones on ebuyer... you know what i'm talking about :D
Ebuyer don't do this one, or any Zalmans (another I would suggest)... In fact, I don't think there's any decent CPU coolers on Ebuyer! :P
ok cool, i may have to order from two places anyway
cheers bud! i'm alsomost done :D
is it easy to install? where do you have the knob thingy seated?
Installation is the same as any other HSF, fiddly. Clip down one side, insert screwdriver (it actually holds it in place though, so you can't slip) and push other clip over socket. It's a big flipping heatsink though, but saying that, my DFI has some caps near the socket, but it still fits.
You get two knobs. One can go into a 3.5" drive bay, so it's at the front of the case, or you can have one to go on a backing plate, round the err, back! :D
Can't use both at the same time though... obviously!
There are two different 'knob thingys' eso you can either put it in a PCI backplate space, or in a 3 1/2" drive bay.
thanks chaps
i found it at www.thecoolingshop.com for the same price and free postage! woohoo
Trust me, there not as good as GlacialTech coolers. GlacialTech do a fully copper one with a 1300rpm fan and you cannot hear it AT ALL.
If you still really want to get the Volcano12s, I have two unused ones (ex review) which I could sell you ;)
could be intrested mate, what sort of money are you looking for?
The GlacialTech is copper based, as well as the Thermaltake. The minimum speed of the Thermaltake fan is 2000rpm and you can't here that, so one would presume the Thermaltake cools better as they are very similar in design.

If that's the cooler you are on about?
