    Athlon XP 2500+ or 2600+??

    Hi...

    I am looking to upgrade from a Celeron 2.0Ghz to an AMD Athlon system. I would like to overclock this new system so my question is which is the best overclocker? the 2500+ or the 2600+?

    cheers....

    Yup, the low voltage and unlocked multiplier make it the best Socket A overclocker. Of course, you could wait for Socket 939 (Athlon 63) to come down in price, and get one of those in a few months, which should give a nice boost in performance.

    Unfortunately no one sells 2500 Mobile processors here in Malta so I guess the choice is limited to either 2500+ or 2600+ barton processors.

    I think somebody is one bit short of a PC architecture!
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Nah, its all a big scam. AMD forgot to put a bit on the new processors, but it's too late to correct them all now

    But yes, I meant Athlon 64!

    There's not really much of a choice there, get whichever you want. It's fairly safe to say they are probably both more or less exactly the same.
    To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
