i never noticed this guys but does a compund become better after you use it for a while, becasue i reaplied the thermal coimpound on my thermaltake heatsink with my dalta 120mm focussed flow fan and 80-120mm converter, ran it at full speed (the house lights dimmed) and it was sitting at 33 degrees, i knew this coudlnt be right, but it didnt reset or overheat so i was happy. This morning to get a wee fix of hexus and ebay before school i booted up again and installed a small fan-mate, a little device that goes inline between your fan and you power to your fan that has three settings, 1 2 and 3 , i had it running on one (the lowest) and my cpu was at 22 degrees, this made me happier, what im wondering is, is there a burn in time for the thermal compund to 'set in' and become more thermally conductive, as this is what im thinking, and also is this compound aceptable for cpus, im using the little syringe of stuff that came and was for my artic cooling for my 9600 pro, im sure itll be ok
i feel no shame in saying it i was wrong i mobo was overheatring in the crashing thread i had there 2 days ago, i didnt realise it but i had made a mess with the compound so i whipped it out, then proceeded to run it under cold wqater in the sink,m lol and wipoe the comnpound off , lol i knoe i probably shoudlnt but i did, i then dried it off with toilet roll and reaplied some compound cleaned the heatsink and put her in and it was fine, at 33 degrees all of yesterday, until thsi morning ^^^, so thanks for your help in this, now im onto overclcoking it! hurrah
