    cheap gaming mouse?+mouse mate

any1 able to recommend a cheap mouse that can be used for playing fps and the normal tasks of the computer (surf web etc). Cheap budget of like £15 maybe £20 as i dont see the use of the £50 ones, needs to have more than 3 buttons (scroll button and left+right) must look good to but that i guess is upto me , my logitec mx90 mouse is dieing i think as the batteries need changing quiet alot and sometimes the reciever messes up(needs to be close to it now, never used to) so id prefer a wired mouse but wireless is still ok as i have rechargable batteries but wired will make life easier.

Now i need a cheap mousemat, something that looks ok but costs around £5, how are the sharkoon ones? http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=444816 and does any1 know if you can buy those gel thigns for your wrist seperatly? because i got a new desk and well the front of it where the curve stops is kinda annoying on the wrist and anything else on it, was hoping to buy a pad to stop this.

Again sorry for the long post , thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Re: cheap gaming mouse?+mouse mate

Cheap mice are usually cheap for a reason.

If you can stretch your budget a bit the Razer Diamondback is only £30

Or the Logitech G5 is about the same price

    Try this: http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=579938

I wanted a cheap second gaming mouse aswell so went for this over the Sharkoon (read poor reports).

Its great. Can change sensitivity on the fly and feels, when in use, like using the MX100, whoch i also have and think alot of.

Slightly up on the budget (about £30 most places, might find it cheaper tho) but the Logitech G5 mouse is superb, i have one and it is the best mouse i have ever owned, on the fly sensitivity changing (with custom settings in a piece of software to get it just right aswell), changeable weights (seems gimmicky to most but it really is helpful once you have the perfect setup), tons of buttons, nice scroll wheel, looks very nice and upmost importantly it feels very comfortable and has a very good ergonomic shape.

I second the Logitech G5; get the newer blue/black one with the two side buttons (as opposed to the older G5's one). The newer one has a better scrollwheel too. Great gaming mouse.

    Re: cheap gaming mouse?+mouse mate

mx518 is quite cheap isn't it? I dunno, mine didn't break the bank.

    http://www.digital-fusion.co.uk/Inu_...p?ref=31903081

From froogle, so don't know anything about that website. But it's seen as the 'benchmark' gaming mouse at least in the circles I'm in, not because it's the best but because they're just good and everyone seems to have one lol.

I really want one of the SteelSeries Ikari mice but depends on how many pennies I manage to save up in the piggy bank.. The mouse you use does make a surprisingly big difference in FPS games but on a budget you can still get a good mouse.

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/114061

And save the money on the mousemat, just get a free promotional one. I don't see how they are any different to a desk for optical mice tbh. Mine is 'University of York Student Network Service' lol...

Yeah worth getting a good mouse - at least an mx300.

As for the mouse mate, how about this one?:

    Re: cheap gaming mouse?+mouse mate

30 would probably be a bit out of budget as £20 is a maxium for me, never really seen an advantage to the £50 ones etc, but i may be able to stretch to £30 but i would want it to look like a pro gaming mouse then xD Now with that price inmind, how good is the saitek cyborg? http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=700962 to me it seems better than the rest and has the highest dpi(even though that probably doesnt matter in my case ).

rofl, only just noticed i added an e to the end

Needs to be a cheap mat because i just want to keep the ruber on the mouse not the desktop and perhaps keep my wrist off the corner of my desk .

If you can find anywhere with the MX518 in stock at a similar price as the one linked to there, grab it!
They've been available for a while now, but there are few - if any better mice for <£25

[edit] More Computers are selling it for just £18.73 / £22.01), and have 85 of 'em "in stock" [/edit]

I'm not sure how much it costs you now, but a Razer DeathAdder is the mouse I have and it is the single most awesome mouse I have ever used.

It looks damn fine and has 5 buttons + a scroll wheel.

    Check it out here: http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=523859

    Re: cheap gaming mouse?+mouse mate

What about an RX1000 laser mouse ??

I have a wireless version of this mouse and it seems good enough for most FPS games I play like Crysis and Bioshock, It has a 1000dpi sensor too! The only problem is that the wired version has a lack of buttons on it apart from the usual ones. However for £11 there is not much to complain about!!

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=475262

There is also the MX400 too!

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=608233

You can also get the VX revolution mouse for £20 from Ebuyer:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/119593

This is a notebook mouse though it used to cost nearer 60 quid when it first came out and has a 2000dpi sensor!! However it is on the large size for a notebook mouse and is very sensitive!!

    Here are some reviews:
