Weird Situation on Shuttle?

Just had it so my shuttle (as sig) refused to boot up with screen working.

After several attempts at checking power adapters, cables (both DVI and Dsub to onboard and 9600 pro) and no luck either way, dived into the internals, couldn't see anything wrong, been using shuttle every day pretty much for 18 months, (could it have just died i think)

Figure last thing to check is to reset bios.

Put cover cmos tab, wipe bios, put cmos tab back and bobs your uncle and life again?!?!?!.

how wierd?. Its like the bios corrupted itself?.

Anyone had anything similar happen?

I've had BIOS's beeping their butts off in a "y'ellow you forgot to put a gfxcard/ram in" kind of way only to be slapped down by a bios battery removal 5 minute wait and insertion. *shrug*

Its another weapon in my ever evolving arsenal.

was probably nothing. Your bios could have been corrupted, but by the look of it you were not even overclocking it. Shuttles are usually well behaved really.

I had similar thing recently with boot issues fixed by resetting the bios. First time i had reset it in over a year though.

Experiencing exactly the same problem at the minute shuttle is around 14 months old. SN45G, fails to post no video signal all components work fine looks like the motherboard it has not been overclocked either ever.

I did a jumper CMOS reset but it didn't work. How else can I reset the BIOS?

I thnik, it would be fair to say, you got well lucky !!!!!!

I found that un-installing the nforce ide drivers makes a heck of a difference to performance.

And yes Zak, it does seem to only be you

How else can I reset the BIOS?

change the pins, remove the battery and leave overnight unplugged

then try again the next day

I've had problems like that before. It's just because my shuttle is fussy and the smallest thing can cause a cable somewhere to come 0.00000002mm out of position or something like that, and then suddenly it wont boot or output VGA.
