SN45G problems
I just replaced a hard drive in my shuttle as the filesytem corrupted and it was no longer recognised in the bios.
One of the symptoms was that the name of the HDD in device detection was corrupt, either not displayed at all or garbled.
I replaced the drive with a new drive and it looks like the same thing is happening again, the computer reboots during games and the garbled device name occurs at POST.
If the hard drive was not at fault what else could be causing these problems?
Spec of the machine is:
SN45G
512mb Samsung PC3200
Rad 9500pro
1x maxtor 160gb
1x maxtor 120gb
DVDRW
250W silent X PSU
Temperatures are not the problem
I am very puzzled and a little frustrated as to the cause of the problem

Presumably if it's not the HD it must be the mobo? I know my shuttle is awkward as hell with hard drives, etc.
-
How can i test IDE channels on the mobo, IDE 2 works just fine as the drive on there is fine and i have no problems with it.

Couldn't you try a bios flash or just resetting it, maybe one of the BIOS binaries is corrupt?
-
Have you changed the IDE lead ?
Ive had the exact same thing with bad cables (a lot of the rounded ones have caused this for me).
