    i've got a Dell Axim X5 (300mhz version)

and video playback wasn't really quick enough, perhaps the 400mhz version would be? mp3 playback was fine though.

what are they like? They look a little bit plasticy...

I think the Asustek and the Viewsonic ones both are pretty feature packed, look good and are quite cheap but i dunno if dunno bout the build quality and who i should stay away from in the Pocket PC world.

my vote goes to the iPAQ - i have had most of those pocket pcs in my hand the ipaq beats the others hands down, especially now that in the 1930 the SD slot is IO compatible.

well, they're alright. some people here have a Toshiba, and whilst they look okay, she managed to break the screen.

there's also a Dell 400mhz one that seems to crash a lot so we're getting it replaced by dell. unfortunately they don't seem to have "the part" so they haven't got one to us yet, and we've waited nearly a week. but other people with the 400mhz version haven't had any problems, and i haven't had any problems with my 300mhz one...

the only problems with them are that if you forget to charge them , and then the backup battery goes, all your data's gone that's stored in it. (unless you've got a memory card that remembers)

I currently use my blackberry the most as it's synced to outlook through GPRS which is great.

another guy i work with can sync with outlook through GPRS with his XDA... so they might be worth considering...? (if you want that kind of feature)

i can take some pics if you want

blackberry doesnt have Windows OS... Dell one looks quite nice actually, but the price of the Asustek, Ipaq and the Viewsonic are tempting me still atm

i'd try and make sure that if it's got an Intel chip, to get a 400mhz one, as the 400mhz one seems noticably quicker than the 300mhz one.

    Josh,

I think I saw an article the other day which meant you can overclock the 300mhz axim to 400mhz without issue.

I'll try and remember where i saw it, but i think it sounded pretty easy.
