RAM Compatibility

Anyone used this Samsung Green 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz 30nm Dual Channel Kit with an Intel H77 chipset?

Most sellers saying it works with Intel Z77 but no mention of H77. I don't intend to overclock so happy with the cheaper H77 chipset.

Need this RAM though as its low profile

Shouldn't be a problem, few issue with ram compatibility these days, your main issues are voltage (1.5v for ddr3 for preference) and overclocking.
Chipset is no longer and issue because the ram controller is on the cpu now (on both intel and amd) not the chipset, lack of bios options for controlling ram speed is the biggest issue, but then it's more of a case of running the ram at a slower speed than it's full rated speed if the bios doesn't support the speed you want to run it at.

As Pob is saying, compatibility shouldn't be a issue.
If you are after some LP memory modules, what I have in my desktop, they are pretty good. And they are ok with Intel chipsets plus they are Low Voltage too.

ordered now - still undecided on motherboard and CPU but have ordered the RAM - the Samsung 30nm and the case - Antec ISK 110

I have 2 pairs, you can't get much lower profile, they sit about 1mm above the flat part of the retaining clip.

Shame not to clock these, they can go upto 2400MHz stable.

Oh yeah right, every stick can make 2400mhz stable, of course...

This might cause overclocking, refer to manufacturer before doing so.

What might cause overclocking? Anyway I checked the motherboard website and the memory is compatible with the H77 Gigabyte mobo I ordered.

Cause overclocking? Most likely it is a "user". But accidents are not excluded.
