    New lappy

right, just got me a Toshiba satellite A50 and as soon as i got it home, installed XP pro on it. It came with a CD with supposedly all the drivers etc that you need and installed them all, but i just cant get my function button working! which means i cant alter the brightness or turn the sound on or off and i cant turn the touch pad off (with the little shortcut button).

When i press the Fn key the little light for the arrow/numerical keys goes on - which i guess it's meant to do... but how to i get the rest of the little shortcut keys to work?!

i've tried googling but it didnt get me anywhere, and i had a search on the toshiba support site and didnt find anything. It doesnt say anything in my user manual either!

Pleeeeeease! someone must know something?! heh!

in a word.... no. It's difficult to explain. The F keys all have assigned functions (i.e sound/no sound, brightness, profile lock, standby, etc) and you have to press the Fn key along with one of those to make it do any of those things, and it wasnt working.

But now it is, and i dunno how i made it work, i just switched it off and switched it back on in the morning and it worked... just like that..miracle!

    Anyways, ta for trying.
