    Laser Printage

    Yet another printer thread

I'm looking for a Colour Laser Printer (with Black and White ofcourse) that will have an RJ45 Ethernet port (so I can network it up)

2/3rds of the usage is Black and White and it will also have to churn out long documents (20 pages) with full colour photos, and it needs to be fast!

Preferably a nice easy setup would be useful (like using a web browser)

    Any suggestions?
    Cheers

If you want a networked laser printer that is fast your going to have to pay over £1000.

Well, it doesn't need to be fast fast, the same speed or a little quicker than an Inkjet.

Thats exactly what i mean. Inkjets are far better at printing photos than lasers, you will have to pay £1000 to get a laser that prints photos as fast as a £100 inkjet.

    Damn.

Well, I don't need full quality photos, they are pretty small (like < 640 x 480) and they are just illustrations really.
That wouldn't lower the price would it?

If not, is there a networkable Inkjet?

I have my 2 printers plugged in to my server to allow nice and easy network access. Another option is a network print server
    ebuyer link
this one is £35, havent used it myself. Only thing is that you can pick up a sff compaq for around £40 delivered to act as a print server and file storage, bit bigger than other option but has more uses.

Checkout the HP Business Inkjet 1100N - its under £200 i think, and has a built in 10/100 port. Got one here. Its not bad, costs quite alot to run though. Or you could get a external network printer server such as that ebuyer one, and plug it into any normal inkjet. (best option methinks)

Cheers Flibb, just opened my eyes and realised I could jsut plug it straight into my server (which is right next to it)

Failing that i'll buy that Print Server off Ebuyer.
    Thanks a lot guys

Ment to say I bought a card from ebay to give 2 extra printer ports. Cost about £6 inc p&p. Uses win2000 drivers for xp but it is a nice easy solution without gogging usb ports.
