To go Cordless or not...?

I have been looking at tidying up my desk and i was thinking about going Cordless with my Mice & Keyboard, as the wires on my desk really clutter things up! Im just wondering, can you tell the difference between wired and wireless (ie, response times) ? Also which of the following are the better kit...

Must admit one of my best buys was the Logitech mx700 mouse.I was worried because I play alot of games but it P's all over my Intellimouse.Haven't used the matching keyboard but the mouse comes highly recomended.No worries with it..

I got an MX1000 yesterday, amazing....works just like a corded mouse

One thing, bluetooth will be no advantage to you unless you have other bluetooth devices. I know that the Logitech's RF works faster than the Logitech's Bluetooth

I have the Logitech desktop MX, and I think its great! I haven't noticed any lag at all. Doesn't feel any different to a corded setup! Actually the mouse feels more responsive than my old MS Intellimouse optical thing! The keyboard has a good range too! Means I can have my keyboard on my bed or something, and use it as a remote for my music or movies.!

I haven't used the ms k/b mouse setupbefore so I can't compare, but the logitech set is ace!

I avoided bluetooth for two reasons: first, the cost. It's a rip off. Second, I've heard it drains batteries quickly.

Modern RF sets are so good that there's little noticable difference between a good wireless setup and a corded one. The wireless one might be marginally less responsive but it's really not that noticable.

I have the desktop elite and I really like it. The keyboard is comfy and well designed and the mouse is good. However, I've also heard a lot of good things about the MX700 and MX1000. I dont think either is a bad choice, just steer clear of the bluetooth.

Hi, i've the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX, if you're on for games mostly then i wouldn't recommend to use the wireless mouse. We all know that there will be always a slight lag with all wireless devices plus that the wireless mouse has batteries on it hence much heavier .
Other than that i've never had ANY problems with it, it's a very good combo .

I also have the cordless dekstop mx. The mouse is the best thing i have ever held. Keyboard just as every other logitech board just feels like a joy to type on. The response times have never been a worry. Works just like a normal keyboard and mouse never had trouble in games. Go for the MX

Not to hijack, but I wan't to get a cordless optical mouse. I love the feel of my current mouse (a standard Microsoft trackball). By feel I mean the weight and shape of it. I've used a lot of cordless opticals in the past and they have been much heavier. Can anyone recommend a device?

bluetooth on a mouse with rechargeable docking station is irrelevant, will keep it charged. my DiNovo keyboard lasts hmmm, 6 months? maybe bit more. I use it a lot though. out of choice, i would go logitech, ms hardware is good, logitech is that little bit better when you get a little deeper into using the device.

i chose bluetooth over rf as i kinda like the idea and wanted to control the music on my pc from a different room!

Yeah but the MS Bluetooth isnt rechargable. You cant really compare a DiNovo to the setups above; the Dinovo costs twice the price and so you'd expect it to perform a lot better.

Wireless mouses are a little heavier, but it depends which one you get. My MS one isnt as heavy as some of the logitech ones I tried; either way, I think you'll find you get used to it.

I love my Desktop MX set. I had a Wireless Intellimouse before it and its a lot better...saves me a fortune in batteries too...

P.S. I find the mouse a nice weight too, just right for playing games...feels like your actually holding something.

I am left handed and it does anoy me that multi million pound companies discriminate against us by making their hardware one handed. But on the other hand it is one of the best feeling comfartable mouses i've held and on the plus it leaves my left hand free for ..... typing lol.

The MX700 is great! Quick and responsive in all situations. The charge lasts for ages and it is comfortable- for right handers!

ok, the Dinovo is a bad choice for comparision. the ms mouse not being rechartgeable is a pain, one thing i would recoomend for ANY wireless mouse/keyboard is mouse has rechargeable station - even my old RF mouse used to run out after a few months. atleast keyboard only wakes up when key pressed, mouse scans 24hrs a day for movement :/
