Jeez - whatever happened to 'Search'... :-)

NEC or Pioneer. If you are feeling rich, go plextor. You'll have to make the choice as to whether you need DL, but to be honest, the drives with it are so damn cheap you might as well. Mind you, the media is expensive at the moment.

Or yeah, and I'll sell you my 10 year old HP single-speed writer for £3000.00. :-)

    Cool! I'll take it!

Well there wasn't a DVD question on the 1st page of this forum so that was good enough reason. I've read all the threads anyway over the weeks but now the 16x kit is out. I actually like the LG kit, as I have a DVDCDRW combo here and it's been fantastic, nice and smooth tray (the tray mech tells me a lot about the drives build, so I like smooth and quiet!)

But every man and his dog goes for the NECs and Pioneers.....I did used to be a big Plextor and Teac man myself since back in the days when a CDR drive was £400. But now I go with what works best for the money.

Anyone else have LG kit? Impressions?

    CHeers,

    MM

www.spv.co.uk it was on special offer at 49.98 not sure if it still is, i also got 99p shipping for joining their mailing list

you might want to shop around, but either way it shud be cheaper than a pioneer 108, as does exactly the same thing, just on bigger burns goes faster due to using CAV writing tech, also think the cdr speed is faster

I had the LG DL and then bought a NEC 3500 DL as well. and I definetly prefer the LG for quietness and overall smoother operation. but thats not to say the NEC isent any good
