Hoping to order it wednesday/Thursday time now!

Doubt I'll over clock it much, have dabbled in the past but rarely do I follow it all through properly!

given the cost of haswell over IB , then tbh IB is a better option , even if the socket wont be going any further

The cost increase is less than the IPC increase..

IPC increase? Sorry, I am very out of touch with the hardware & price!

    Pm inbox cleared!

Open to suggestions, currently try going off the i5 & 7950 build suggested above.

    Thank you all

Re: Gaming PC _ can you spec me?

in real world games - other than a handful ( total war i think is 1) AMD and intel are pretty much matched .Anad had a long review of gaming with a high end card and both rigs , then added 1 ,2 and 3 more to find the bottleneck; with a single card , and even a dual cards in CF or SLI , both AMD and Intel rigs were pretty much neck and neck, its only when you had 3 cards that the i7 started really pulling away. on the other hand crisis 3 and tomb raider showed a very strong showing on AMD kit , the 8350 was up there with the i7.

Re: Gaming PC _ can you spec me?

Any sort of RTS game tends to favour Intel quite heavily, in most other games you tend to be GPU limited.

On games like Crysis 3 an 8350 is up there with an i7, but the i5 is right up there too.

The price of the 3570K has risen since I posted so I would suggest the following instead:

    Haswell 4570
    http://www.dabs.com/products/intel-c...b901730c851609
    B85 MB
    http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/c...-b85m-hd3.html

Or the 6300 as described above.

BTW you can get a 770 for a lot less than £329, £39 less in fact!

Re: Gaming PC _ can you spec me?

If the OP is not overclocking,I would wait until the Xeon E3 1230 V3 is released:

    http://ark.intel.com/products/75054/...Cache-3_30-GHz

It should be around £170 to £180 is released but should be around Core i5 4670 level but with more L3 cache and HT.

The GTX760 should also be released on June 25th which should means some adjustments over the current AMD and Nvidia graphics card ranges. I expect some price drops on the HD7950.

If you cannot wait that long,it might be worth looking at this HD7970 for around £280:

    http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/giga...oshock-1582033

    Edit!!

There is reference GTX670 for around £250:

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=GX-017-KF

The GTX760 is meant to be slightly faster and slightly cheaper.

Re: Gaming PC _ can you spec me?

CAT if the rumours are true the 760 will actually be under gtx 670 performance.

ofc its rumour mill but from the sources of the gtx 770 and 780

ofc willz , skipped over the non overclocking part

Should these work with any standard 1150 motherboard?

    Does multicore enhancement still work?
