Retail Athlon 64 Heat Sink & Price Check

How good is the standard retail oem Athlon 64 Heat Sink?

I've just had my A7N8X-E die on me, so I took the chance to grab the 25% off at PC World and orderd a MSI K8N Neo Platinum and a AMD Athlon 64 3000+, but I can't really be botherd going throught the hassle of buying a new HS again after I heard the retail one is supose to be rather good?

Not really looking at overclocking as this game is becoming too much of a hassle, and as long as the system works well I shan't be bothering.

Also what kind of price would a month old SP-97 heatsink fetch, and a brand new A7N8X-E as that should come through on a RMA. Also going to go back to a GW 802 case, so will have a Jantech ( think that what it was ) Phong for sale.

Yes i have also heard a lot of good things about the retails heatsinks and fans although i expect there are a lot better out there

Depends how high and case cooling i would say. I expect its best to buy a retail and see how you get on with it.

Although you don't get an heatsink and fan with an OEM CPU only the retail ones.
