    pre build HTPC under £400, can play bluray rip mkv

    Any one know where I could purchase such a system?

    I doubt you'll find anything much for £400.

    It is the easiest system to build yourself though, motherboard, apu, ram, case and drives. Your looking at £300+ in parts (depending on APU, drives and case)....and about 20 minutes to put it together.

    But AFAIK, ripping Blurays is still illegal (?) and as such HEXUS could not condone any such actions.

    For a pre-built, you could try the Sapphire systems on OCUK, get at least one of the Trinity systems (A4 for £300). Main reason I'd recommend these; small (so it will fit in your living room easily) and definitely enough power for 1080p. I cannot guarantee its noise but I'd imagine its about the same as a laptop and if you are playing movies, it really shouldn't get hot enough to be spinning its fan hard.

    I thought it was changed (or at least about to change)....the government made a big stink recently about how format-shifting should be legal.

    There a Windows 7 SP1 disk you can download but then again you have download further more updates since SP1... I am interested in your scripts.

    Imaging clean PC with your programs installs makes it easier to rebuild again.
