Why restricted to 2 slots 3200 ??

I have an Asus A7V600 board in my server and want to increase the memory from its 512 (2*256) to 1024 by adding a 3rd stick of memory.

IN the manual and website it states -

3 x 184-pin DIMM Sockets support max. 3GB unbuffered non-ECC PC2700/2100 DDR SDRAM memory (PC3200 up to 2 DIMMs only)

Anyone know if I can run a 3rd stick of 3200 memory or will it just not work ??

If it does work, will it have stability issues or will it run at a slower speed than 3200 i.e. will I just be as well getting a stick of 2700 memory and will this run the entire bank of memory at 2700 ??

Yes, but it won't run just that bank at 2700, it will run all 3 banks at 2700.

Which is why I would rather get 3200.... Will 3200 work in all 3 slots ??

Seems to be the norm for 3 slotted AMD boards... Anyone know why ??
