Pc World What A Joke !!

I decided i needed a wireless keyboard for a rig thats going under my tv last week , so i thought a trip to pc world was in order to try out and buy a wireless keyboard and mouse , so i bought a pc line one when i got home, plugged it in , i found that the n button didnt work and either did the space bar (you had to hit it with a hammer for it to work) , so it took it back and payed the extra money for a trust set, got home , seals were already open , things out of packets , oh dear . So i plugged it in , when you press F you get about 7 f's and when you press space you get 10 spaces' obviously this has been returned and just chucked back on the shelf which isnt acceptable . So i am now mind boggled on what to do shall i :

    A: Get it replaced

    B: demand my money back

    or

C: Demand a free upgrade to a more expensive set

I would normally agree, but after their 25% discount, I can't!

Take it back, ask for your money back, buy a new keyboard from a reputable supplier like Aria.

I initially said "get it replaced" then re-read you post. You bought PC Line stuff?

Go to Amazon and see what wireless options they have as I seem to remember that they are cheaper than places like PC World and Dixons etc for keyboards and stuff.

be aware that a company which used to take people to court over returns complaints just to show them who's boss isn't gonna be all roses and sweetness if you start demanding better kit.

pc line kit gets 90% profit. packard bell about 80%. trust about 70%. better kit (just say you want logitech/ms, save us all a lot of time) about 30%.

they can't still make a profit by giving you a free upgrade, and have no interest in keeping you as a customer if it involves making a loss.

you can write them a letter about your time wasted and costs involved due to petrol etc, but i don't think it's gonna be worth it. there are best avoided in my opinion. (i did manage to get £40 worth of vouchers by writing a letter though) - that was after they supplied me with 2 faulty monitors, one of which was blatantly faulty before i even took it out of the shop (but i didn't take the time to check it properly), and another time they took about an hour to decide to give me a refund.

TBH matey, I wouldn't bother. PC World won't give a toss about losing one little customer. Remember, they're a monopoly, like M$, they're in it for the money and NOTHING ELSE. Customer satisfaction is way down on their list of priorities, probably bottom after making sure the rubbish is taken out every night.

Take it back, tell them it's broken and ask for a refund. Don't demand it as getting enraged won't help (trust me on this one). Once you have the money back in your hand (or back on your card) walk out of the door with a smile on your face and NEVER turn back.
