    Good Compact Gaming Keyboards

I want a keyboard that has no numpad so it is more compact that will be good for gaming the only 2 I have found so far is the CM Storm quickfire rapid and the corsair k65 (not out yet though) and I was wondering if there are any other good ones out there.

On a side note is a mechanical keyboard actually noticeable better for gaming because people always recommend them but I have never had the chance to use one because no where near me has them where I can try them and no one I know has one.

I use a Filco TKL with blues on my gaming rig, a Steelseries 7G with blacks on one of my other rigs and a cheap one with blues on the work room rig, and yes mechanical is far superior keyboards

I've got this keyboard, although mine's got white keys (black base), with back-lit red WASD keys, & the UK layout (including large enter button):

I got the Cherry MX red keys, which are very light touch, & without a 'break'. Great for gaming, but not so good if you do lots of typing (I don't). Not cheap though: about £100 I think.

This keyboard will last forever, PBT key caps are much harder wearing.

Coolermaster Tk is another one to look at. I know Scan has quite a few mechanical out for you to try and you might get lucky with your local PC world having a blackwidow out or something similar.

As for any difference in gaming performance expect nothing. Your still do just as well on a mechanical as you would on a membrane. Its just feels nicer to push the keys on a mechanical .

    Re: Good Compact Gaming Keyboards

Scan have just released the pricing for the k65 and its £70 but I noticed that the CM Quickfire Rapid is now £50 at scan should I spend the extra £20 to get the k65 to match with my m65 mouse or just go for the cm quickfire rapid because its £20 cheaper
