Hey guys, just a quickie.
I finally sucked up the courage to remove my Radeon 9800 Pro's stock cooler off in order to put an Arctic Cooler Rev3 on it, as it's got an R360 core so I wanted to put an XT BIOS on it.
Anyway, on removing the heatsink, I noticed that two of the tiny surface-mount resistors near the GPU were actually LOOSE at one end (other end was still soldered on....JUST!)
Anyway, I know it wasn't me that did this, as I was SO careful in removing the thing you wouldn't believe. I shook the card a bit and turned it upside down, but they didn't fall off, so they're on fairly tight, but obviously there's not gonna be any power going through them.
Anyway, finished the job off and flashed the BIOS, everything is hunky-dory for the moment.
I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this while modding their 9800s? Or am I special?
