HELP!! Graphics all mashed up after instaliing new mwm

hey,

got some new mem today but when i installed it my gfx was all corrupted. Put my old mem bak but still the gfx was messed up

oooh dear - try going into safe mode and reinstalling your gfx drivers...

is the gfx all screwed at post before you enter windows or afterward?

tried safe mode and reinstalling gfx, no luck

its screwed at post as well

have you got a spare gfx card you can try? perhaps you knocked it whilst changing memory? have you checked the gfx card is in the computer all the way - you could try pulling it out putting it back in...

Suspect the card died.
If you remove the memory does all return to normal?

thats bad, but at least something is actually happening, its not just dead. I suspect a bad connection between the gfx card and the mobo. go have a butchers and see if youve knocked anything, or cracked any of the connectors.

I am however sure youve already tried this

well the gf3 works fine
the 9700 seemed to be securely in but hopefully i'm wrong

gonna try it aagain now

Maybe you knocked a small resistor / transistor off it ?

This happened to my GF2, it quickly degraded until i couldnt even get into windows and I got green squares and foreign letters on the boot up screen, then the computer failed to post altogether over the space of 1 week.

well tried it again doesnt work, tried on dads pc, same prob. Gonna have to rma it, its only 2 months ago
wots Scan like for returns?

had a gander, cant see anything that seems to have broken off

could static have caused this?

Haven't heard good things about Scan's RMA, unless thats changed. Hope you get it sorted.
