Help me get a high FSB from my MAX 3

Ok got my mobo running fine at 255MHZ FSB with the 1:1 dividor, passes prime 95 tests and everything, at 250 FSB with the 5:4 dividor things are flakey at best.
Ive heard theres problems with i875 mobos and the 5:4 dividor however i have seen peeps pull it off.
So any tips for me? new ram?

Current setup is as follows :

    MAX 3 Mobo
2x 256MB sticks OCZ PC3700 Gold Dual Channel
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 256MB RAM
    SB audigy Player
2x Raptors in Raid 0 on Intel ICH 5
    Enhance 460 Watt PSU

Try one stick only and see how that goes. You got CPC off in BIOS for the DDR?

It will be either the settings for your memory, the BIOS is flakey on the MAX3 or the NB cooler needs removing and AS3 applying. very careful fitment of the NB heatsink can yield good FSB results.

    I've only had IS7 / IC7 so no idea about the MAX3.

tryed all this on my last mobo to no avail, getting the same results on this also makes me feel its not the mobo, ill give these ideas a go on this board, who knows Abit may have a better implementation on this board than DFI did
