    Question Quick Tagan PSU Questions

hey on my psu there is a cable that is the "RTN grounding cable connector" in the book it says :

"Connect RTN grounding cable conntector (a thick cable) to the one of the fixing screw-holes of your mainboard (the RTN/GND connections). Double-check, for contacts with heighborhood components and for short-circuit."

lol well i'm just guessing but does this bit

"Connect RTN grounding cable conntector (a thick cable) to the one of the fixing screw-holes of your mainboard (the RTN/GND connections).

mean, connect it to one of the screws that fasten the mobo to the case? and the other part of it i havent got a clue what it means! hope someone can help??????????????????????????????????

Yes it means connect it to one of the mobo mounts.
& it means make sure that it isn't touching anything else other than the screw/mobo mount to avoid a short.

I just connected it to one of the screws holding my FDD in place.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

I just screwed it to my case, didn't like the idea of putting it on a motherboard standoff.

Is there any major risk by putting it through a mobo standoff? Or should it be ok

I did the same and screwed it into the case - I just didn't fancy a direct connection from psu to motherboard. If you connect it to motherboard standoff will it not change the height?

Screwing it onto anywhere in the case is fine as it is all conductive through the motherboard standoff. The only problem is when you have an acrylic case

yeah, unless its an acrlic case, just whack it onto anything (ie, on pci or hdd screw)

    - or just chop it off, because its all conected through the PSU caseing anyways
