I am about to buy an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2 GHz Socket 939, 512KB cache, BOXED from Komplett but would like to know if the fan and heatsink are any good in other words relatively quiet and cool when underload.

The fans are actually quite good and fairly silent for a standard stock cooler![]()

Unless your overclocking the stock fan will do just fine, not loud and relatively silent as well.![]()
I've always been pleased with the stock coolers supplied with Athlon's - fairly quiet and perfectly sufficient cooling, even for overclocking![]()
Don't you get a longer warranty with a boxed version as well?
