    CPU cooler suggestions.

I need some suggestions for a CPU cooler which can fit the motherboard shown, and is under 150MM in height(preferably under 140MM),and does not obstruct the RAM.

When looking for CPU coolers I've always looked for reviews at frostytech.com, linked is there low profile Intel top 5

I've used similar Zalman fans in tight situations before, there latest reviewed is the Zalman CNPS9900 Max, might be worth a look

Just to add to Cat's post, it's got a Xigmatek Praeton on it atm and it's running a bit warm...

It shouldn't be running too warm - the CPU is at stock speeds/voltages right? Even the stock cooler is more than capable of dealing with Sandy-Bridge chips at stock, if your case airflow is causing a problem for the current cooler then it'll cause a problem for all of them as better ones will just extract more heat from the CPU into the case.. but still won't go anywhere so will limit the cooling.

    Re: CPU cooler suggestions.

I tried the stock cooler and it couldn't keep the CPU cool enough for extended times under stress during hot weather.

The current cooler I use is the Xigmatek Praeton which is an improvement but is quite noisy. I thought of plonking on a better 92MM fan like one of the focussed flow Noctua ones but at £15 to £20,I wonder whether I should add a few more quid and get a new cooler??

I was browsing on OcUK and saw these two coolers:

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...30&subcat=2334

The last one looks like it will fit fine and I have a Corsair SP120L fan I can put on it too:

However,it is expensive,so is there anything cheaper??

    Edit!!

Regarding airflow I have a pair of 120MM fans in this case:

    Re: CPU cooler suggestions.

I got a low-profile thermalright CPU cooler unit off scan a year or so ago. can't see the one I have listed, but this is close:

Will check product details when I get home.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...30&subcat=2262 would work well with your SP120 or a refurb h80 when stock returns.

How about one of these? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=HS-021-CS
Similar to the one above but a bit better and is also in stock, although it is a manufacturer refurb, which wont bother most people

Corsair H60 is a great option; cool, quiet and not overly expensive
