4pin PWM Fan control

Hi
I have a MSI B75MA-E33. So far very satisfied with it.
It currently feeds 2 x 4pin PWM fans and a standard 3pin one.
The 4pin fans are regulated as CPU fan and CASE fan.
My momentily problem is that I can't reduce the CPU below 50% speed (the CASE fan can go all the way down 12.5% or 0%).
Any chance I can reduce the speed of the fan further?

you should be able to reduce it more, you might need to use the control centre utility from within windows.

I use an MSI FM2 board and can control the CPU PWM fan down to 0% in both the BIOS and MSI's ClickBios2 utility. If the option is there for you, you can set a target temperature for the CPU and the minimum speed the fan will go down to. I would make sure you are running the latest Bios - version 1.5 from March 2013.

Haven't thought of that, but I can't think of any reason why the BIOS would be limited more that a simple program from Windows.

Using the latest version. Can take screen shots of the settings. Unless I missed something (some option un-ticked), I can't go lower that 50% of the nominal FAN speed at the CPU connector.
Will double check today.
P.S.: Can you control both the CASE and the CPU fan speed down to 0%?

I got to apologize, I mixed up. I can't lower the SYSTEM FAN below 50%, I can push the CPU FAN down to 0%.

Any changes in advice? Will try the MSI ClickBIOS.

Just checked and it is the same for me, 50% minimum for the system fan header.

Hell yee, SpeedFan done the trick. Why can't MSI give me the same options? Would be even worthwhile to write to MSI to ask for FULL control in the BIOS?

EDIT :
Question: Would be there a possibility that in the future or even in the next BIOS the limit to control the SYS Fan 1 would be removed? Currently I can lower the RPM to 50%. I would love to lower it below. Ideally have the same control as with the CPU Fan. I can use SpeedFan to lower the RPM of the system case fan lower that 50% but I would love if I could do that from the BIOS. Any chance? (I am sure it wouldn't take much Regards

I have the same Problem with the MSI B75MA E33 board. But i can't get speedfan working (Windows 8). It shows two FANs, but with over 6500 rpm.
There is no way to control the fans in speedfan.

Maybe you can tell me if there are special settings you made to get speedfan working? Or email me your working version of speedfan?

Interesting. Do you have the latest BIOS (v1.05)?
I sorted my problem out with a little financial injection : PWM splitter for £1.99.
Now both FANs are on the header I can controll from 0% to 100% and have one empty PWM header.
Ince I arrive home, will definitely mail you the version I have.
Btw, do you have the Intel Management Engine installed, or whatever it is called?

EDIT: The Speedfan I am using is the following version: v4.49. It starts normally, takes a little while to detect everything in the system (disks, sensors, etc) but after that I can pretty much control everything, or at least monitor. Maybe not important but I have Click_BIOS installed as well. Otherwise just Intel drivers pretty much.

After starting Speedfan it shows:
Fan1: 6553 RPM
Fan2: 6522 RPM
Fan3: 0 RPM

When i click "configure -> fan control" or "speeds" nothing is listed, so nothing to configure
In configure -> Fans it shows:
Fan1 LM78 Fan1 6553 RPM ISA $290
Fan2 .... and so on

Didn't know that B75MA-E33 had a 1.6 BIOS, even the website shows only up to 1.5... :-?. My BIOS version is [V1.5 / 20130319]

Anyway, under Fan control it shows, nothing (!) even after enabling Advanced Fan Control, but under Speeds I have 3x [Label] names, Pwm1, Pwm2 & Pwm3. All with/trough the Chip [F71869AD], [Sensor] names same as [Label] names, BUS is ISA and address $290 (exactly, DOLLAR_290 . )

EDIT: Can you Right Click on SpeedFan > Properties > Compatibility and Run it in a lower Windows OS compatibility mode. (just try Win Xp SP3 or Win &, out of curiosity).
