Review On New Gaming Build
I was hoping people could look over my system before I start getting parts. I'm looking for a powerful gaming system with room for upgrade/expansion, primarily with regards to the GPU. Here is the list:
Intel Core i&-3930K 3.2 GHz 6-Core Processor
Corsair H100i
Biostar TPOWER X79 ATX LGA2011 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3-2133 Memory *2
Zotac GeForce GTX 780 3GB GPU
Thermaltake Level 10 GT Snow ed. ATX Full Tower Cas
Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 800W PS
Samsung MZ-7TD500BW 500GB SSD
Thank you all :D
Re: Review On New Gaming Build
In my humble opinion, 3930K has no merit over a 4670K for gaming - most games don't scale above 4 threads so you'll be wasting a lot of money on a 3930k that you could spend on SLI and actually get even more FPS.
If of course you are doing other things with your GPU and you need the 12 threads then by all means go ahead :)

Not to mention the extra cost of the X79 motherboards, and 4 sticks of ram if you want to take advantage of quad channel memory access.
No, that's a good home server/compute build, but for gaming stick to mainstream chips/boards as they're faster, more efficient and you get things like PCIe 3.0 etc.
Re: Review On New Gaming Build
Definitely agree with the other replies; unless you need the processing power for video editing or encoding, or other computationally intensive purposes, the 3930K is wasted.
I personally wouldn't go for a Coolermaster PSU like the Silent pro gold, which is made by Enhance Electronics apparently; I generally prefer Seasonic units myself.
