Hard drive failure
Last week I had a 200GB WD Caviar SE die on me completely and today one of my SCSI drives has just died on me as well. The SCSI drive isn't too much of an issue as its part of a RAID5 array and everything is still intact on the remaining 2 drives.
All my hard drives (6) are in the disk rack at the bottom of my pc60 with 2x80mm fans blowing cold air onto them. I have had a temp probe in there, in the hottest place (between 2 SCSI drives) and temps are fine, usually about 40C, so it isn't heat, what else could it be? ..... or am I cursed?

Are you in the habit of powering off, then moving the case soon after to work on it? I killed a 15K SCSI drive that way. They (15K RPM drives) can take about 15s to spin down, and that moment just before they stop is when they are most vulnerable. Having castors on a PC can be a blessing or a curse... :-) P.S. have you tried running MBM to see if it can display your drive temperatures? (Array controllers can block this feature.)
