    Re: new build

Unless you're absolutely set on a new system, I'd be inclined to save a bit of cash & just update your graphics card...the rest of your system is pretty good for gaming. What resolution do you game at? With new AMD graphics cards due for release soon, the market (both AMD & nVidia) will be readjusted somewhat no doubt, and rumour has it that AMD might add BF4 to it's 'never settle' bundle, in which case you might get that thrown in

    Re: new build

First we need to know what BF4 runs like, and what monitor/resolution you are running. You can tell us the latter, but we need to wait for the former otherwise you could mis-spec.

That'll also have the advantage of waiting for the AMD news - even if the new cards are too expensive, if they are fast then nVidia cards might drop in price.

The likely scenario is once we know about BF4, you can spec the graphics card(s) to meet your performance at your resolution. With that spec'd, we'll know how much remains to spend on other components to get them as good as we can.

    Re: new build

All this, but there do seem to be some good deals on 3GB 7950s knocking around. To be honest though, unless you have that money burning a hole in your pocket, and absolutely have to spend it, just get a new GPU. Unless they do something insane with the Physics or you want to use 3 monitors I can't see a reasonably clocked 6300 + say a 7970 or 770 struggling.

    Re: new build

The recommended system spec has already been released:

    http://bf4central.com/battlefield-4-...-requirements/

If you're planning to game at higher resolutions & with Ultra settings, you're probably going to be graphics-bound anyway; a 4670 will likely be as much as you need...if you look at this page from a recent Tomsardware comparison, a stock 3570K cpu gives around 96% of the performance of a 3930K. Even your AMD 6300 averages around 75%

    Re: new build

Your CPU is fine even going by the BF4 Alpha results:

    http://eashooters.ru/wp-content/uplo...6/bf4-proz.jpg

The FX6300 has around 80% of the performance of a Core i7 3930K.

You can even overclock your CPU a bit too if required.

Those results are with a Geforce Titan too,so you are more likely to GPU limited. AMD is releasing more information about the HD9000 series this week too,and it has been rumoured BF4 will be bundled with it.

The 3930 would be overkill if you're using the PC for gaming...a 4770K will give you the same performance, but for £200 less.
