All my current devices are accounted for in my device manager but then theres another device saying "unknown device" ..under the "other devices" catergory.
Don't know what it is and i can't seem to do anything about it. Updating it does nothing, no information in properties to work out what it is ...any suggestions on what i can do to diagnose the issue?
Double click on it and go to the details tab and select the hardware ids it will give you a string of text
edit, just noticed you said that it has no info :/

Have you installed all the mobo drivers?
Do you have any USB devices plugged in? Keep the device manager windows open and unplug each USB drive until the unknown device disappears.
If do not have any USB plugged in then check your chipset drivers are installed and any other motherboard drivers as Macadee mentioned.
You should always have a details tab for gives the device ID, sub ID and other stuff. It's under the 'hardware ids' in the dropdown.

Okay this is what i found:
Have no devices plugged in at this moment to any USB.
In the past when that has happened to me, it is a driver that hasn't been installed.
I would go to the motherboard maker's website, make sure you have installed all the drivers for your m/board.
I did all that it just left this one last unknown device.
Apparently it's something to do with Asus AI Suite II. Apparently should be under AMDA0\ somewhere.
So assuming you've got an ASUS board maybe a lone file somewhere for the ASUS drivers?

Ive installed everything with the "Install All" option on the CD everything is up to date but the problem still exists. TBH at this point it seems its not affecting my PC so i might just leave it =/
Might just be a .cab file on the loose signing a driver that isn't actually thereif it isn't affecting your PC may as well just leave it.
Look into the event logs, if your system can't find a driver it'll give you somewhere to look

I had that on my Asus Z87-A. If you go to Asus's website and look up the drivers for your board, it is listed as "ACPI Driver". Download and install that and all should be well. It's always better to download drivers from the manufacturers website anyway as they will be more up to date than the ones on the disk.
Google results points it as "Asus COM" service and a suggestion to fix this is to insert your motherboard installation DVD and leave it to autorun, it should automatically install it. :/
