oh its for a duron 700
ive seen a passive copper block for 20 quid
the PC will be on 24/7
would i get away with a heatsink and fan and disconnect the fan, so it would be passive cooling ?????
/me points at the edit post button as apposed to the reply button
what temps does the chip run at under full load with a hsf mate?
if you get high readings then i wouldnt disconect the fan, tho it also depends on the air flow in the case, its it carp then the chances of running it with no fan are small
thanks BAcon, the system isnt built yet, i have a choice of 2 cases, a large tower (which is massive) or a smaller midi tower case, the idea is for a silent MP3 and Server type of thing (its going to be in my guest room and i dont want to turn it off when guests stay, thus a silent as possQuote:

He's just trying to help you out - we like a tidy forum, where possible :)Quote:

If you want the ultimate silent heatsink and fan then the zalman 7000cu is your friend.
Will set you back a fair bit though and probably won't fit on your motherboard but thats defeatist talk.
