    ROM & microprocessor systems

Im having a bit of trouble with one of these questions on my college coursework, i have looked for this all over the net but havent had no luck.

The question is "What type of software programs are ROM devices primarily used to store in microprocessor based systems and why?"

If anyone could help me with this question i would be very appreciative

    Thanks alot

I would guess the question refers to the Basic Input Output System (BIOS) stored on an EPROM on your mobo/graphics card etc

Like the man said, boot up code and things that don't need to be changed (ROM) or just rarely updated (EPROM)
