Problems with USB Ports? Do u have the Answer?

I need some help as im a tad confused TBH!

I've just got me a new Rig,
It's the new AMD 64 AMD shuttle, and was really happy with it until now,
as i am having problems with the USB's on the back and one on the front,

Don't want to work any more? They where working fine before but now they have stopped working with

Wireless receiver for mouse and Keyboard
    ADSL Modem,
    Optical mouse that is cabled,

and they don’t work with USB on back or 1 of the 2 on front.

BUT thing is they do work with my USB Memory stick?

Is this a hardware fault or what???

Please Some one Give me some idea?

    Thanks

I've found that installing too many USB devices can confuse the OS terribly. Even uninstalling devices doesn't fix the problem. You may have to hack around the registry or even do a reinstall of the OS. I'm now very wary of any USB storage device that needs drivers loaded, it's just not worth the risk of screwing the system.

Do you remember installing any software and then they all stopped working?

hmm. long shot here, but have you turned off the power-saving features on the USBs? the OS sometimes shuts down USB ports to save power and doesnt seem to bring them back on again (I had this problem a while back)

Go into the device manager and check the "power management" tab for each of the USB ports and see if its turned on / off

    Found The Answer LOL!

I work for Medion computers, on the Technical support and asked around the hotline and one of my work mates said it is probably static...

What you have to do is do a static discharge by turning off the PC making sure its turned off at the wall but still plugged in, so it is still earthed.

Then hold the power button in for 2-3 min,

Then turn it all back on, and Guess what it’s all working Great again.

Rock on Chris Butcher TBH @ Medion LOL!!!
