    DFI LanParty UT nF3, front USB ports not working ??

    Hi,

    on my DFI motherboard i can't get the front USB ports to work with my coolermaster case.

    I have tried both usb ports both on the acutal case and motherboard.

    however the ones on the back of the i/o shield part of the motherboard usb ports work fine...

    any idea why this might be ?

    duff motherboard ?

    bios change ?

    windows settings ?

    thanks

    Is there an option to enable/disable them in the bios? Have you definately wired 'em up right?

    I just bought the DFI to test and I noticed the same thing. Mine has many problems. Some are bad, like when disabling CPU thermal throttle the board wouldn't post. A BIOS flash took care of that but there are many other issues with this board. I have yet to get the nVidia SATA RAID to function. It appears there are driver and BIOS problems. If you need to run RAID on this board I suggest a PCI controller.

    I didn't try too hard to get the front USB ports to work but I did notice the were not functioning. I'll try again soon and post back here later.

    This is the best board out there for hardcore overclockers who don't care to solder, but it is not for the mainstream user. The K8NS Pro is a much better choice for most people.

    Perhaps the pinout in the manual for the USB headers is wrong?

    Just a guess...
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();
