    SN95G5 Questions

I got an SN95G5 about a month ago and I've noticed some things about it. I was wondering if any others with it can comment as to having the same experiences.

    1. The cover for the front panel containing the front usb, audio, and mic snaps when it opens and closes...sometimes it gets a bit stuck and you need to wiggle it...

    2. The CD drive bay cover "smacks" against the CD drive as it opens and closes.

    3. Temperatures. Taking readings from the BIOS and Nvidia's System Utility, during idle, my CPU reads about 35C and my System temperature reads about 45C. Gaming, my CPU reads about 38-40C and my System temperature reads about 48-50C. I called Shuttle and they said those temperatures were normal. Just looking for a comparison.

    4. I'm not sure that this is at all related to the actual system, but about once every 1-3 days I will get a complete system freeze...sort of. Mouse and keyboard will no longer work...system will not respond in any way at all...except, the clock will still work...and if I leave it be, the the screensaver will come on. Also, I can Remote Desktop into it and get the logon screen, but when I try to actually log in, it will hang. I don't think this is temperature related, as this has happened during idle as well as during use and the temperatures at the time of the freeze have been about 35C/45C, which is not above normal for me. The timing of the freezes seem completely random and no event log errors are generated. Personally, I think it may be my keyboard/mouse combination. This problem started about two weeks ago (it didn't happen at first when I got the SN95G5) right around the time I replaced my keyboard and mouse. Keyboard is the Microsoft Wireless Desktop Standard keyboard. Mouse is the Logitech MX1000 Laser. Up until today, I've had both plugged in via USB in a USB 2.0 hub. Today I switched the keyboard so that it's receiver is plugged into PS2. Mouse is still plugged into USB hub. We'll see if this fixes the problem, but I just wanted some input for this as well.

    My configuration:
    SN95G5
    Athlon 64 3500+
    1GB Kingston ValueRAM
    Asus V9570TD GeForce FX 5700 256MB
    Seagate 200GB SATA
NEC 3500A Dual Layer DVD Burner
    Teac Floppy

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Re SN95G5 Questions

    Guessing:-
Sounds to me like a memmory jam.
Try takeing out the mem and swapping modules. Could also be that the CPU is not seated properly or maybe running to hot.
