My system changes...
Made some system changes… Well I am sick of the mails asking me what I run so I thought I would post.
I moved to a Shuttle about 2 years ago at launch of the SB61G2 and loaded it up with 3.0GHz EE etc - but had to move to a 875 system when I b0rk3d the bios, this of course was loaded up reasonably well then I have migrated through the following:
Some of the system changes have lasted days, some longer….
1. Shuttle SB75G2 Loaded with a 3.0Ghz Extreme Edition, 1GB Ram, and 2 hard drives, 1 * 120, 1 * 160GB, Pioneer DVD105 RW, ATi 9800XT Graphics Card
2. The above Shuttle with a Raserator watercooler
3. SB81P with 3.4GHz Extreme Edition, 1GB Ram, Dual 250GB HDDs, 1 * 120GB HDD, Pioneer DVD105 RW, NVIDIA 6800GT PCI-E
4. Zalman TNN500A, 3800 A64 CPU, 2GB OCZ Ram, X800 Pro, Dual 250GB
HDDs, 1 * 120GB HDD, Pioneer DVD105 RW
5. AKASA Eclipse 62, 3800 A64 CPU, 2GB OCZ Ram, X800 Pro, Dual 250GB HDDs, 1 * 120GB HDD, Pioneer DVD105 RW
6. IWill ZMaxDP, Dual 246 Opterons, 2 GB DDR333 Crucial Ram (Opties wont work with DDR400) Dual 200GB Hard drives, X800 XT PE when it decides to work, ASUS CDRW/DVD Combo Drive, WiFi Module
I now run systems 5 and 6 as my ‘rigs’ all systems have run with my dual TFTs and Dell keyboard – recently I snagged a Logitech MX1000 to replace my MX700
Of course there has been minor changes, adding of hard drives and things over time - but this is what I have run in the last year ish.

nice setup.........perks of the job hey ?
-
I have just one question! How does that 3.4 EE run? Is it much nicer then say a normal 3.4?
-
In what sense? performance? it does have some edge, however, I only do web, email, outlook, word etc - and a bit of games.
The new Opteron box will be my main pc and the 3800 is going to become my 'server' since I am sick of copying data all over the place
-
Out of rigs 1-5 which would you say performs the best/fastest?
They all have a good spec, but obviously different technologies.
-
I prefer the dual opteron
closely tied by my SB81P
Of course - the Zalman was silent.

the Zalman story is very very funny :)
I am not sure just how heavy it is, but he was on the phone several times that day, panting, cos he'd had to pick it up :) and move it from place to place. Thats passive coling for ya tho...its gotta be heavy...and sexxxxxeh ;)
The fact that this bloke has enough hardware to pile up HDD's and CPU's and take a photo of it all JUST TO TAUNT ME is sufficient for me to announce to the world:
DAVID>>>>>IF I DIDN'T LOVE YOU I'D BE GREEEEEEEN WITH ENVY
;)
*rumours abound of David tiling his bathroom with cpu's that Tarinder and Ryz have fried*
