Very Slow Wireless Connection

Hello,

I have a laptop and a desktop PC and have connected them together via 802.11g wireless. However the speed on my laptop is only 1mbps!! the desktop had 54MBps.

I have configured the network manually using Windows XP Home on both laptops.


Do I need to enable something on my Laptop? It is an Acer Acpire 1522LMi.
Both computers say that signal strengt is Excellent

Hello again,

I found that the Wireless card on my PC desktop is set to "g". I changed this on my laptop to "Mixed Mode b/g" in the settings and I get 54MBps. BUT the internet is still very slow. I type an adress in and nothing happens.

i have service pack 2 on my laptop an the desktop doesnt, could this be a factor?
