Ok this is a real noob question but am going to have to change my graphics card as I suspect it is dead. Am trying to get the old one out and I can't seem to disconnect the power connector on card. Is there a nack to it? I tried pulling it but don't wanna yank it too hard and damage anything.
My card in a Gigabyte Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb.
Any suggestions??? :confused:
wiggle it side to side (as in along now to/away from the card) for a bit and loosen it up.
but basicly, NO, just tug it!!
- the plugs in our pc's are a bit crude.
Yup got up the courage and got it sorted. Thanks for advice.
Removed card but now pc won't power up now there is no card- was hoping to plug monitor into onboard graphics port until I get new card. What am I missing? Boy am I on a learning curve at the mo!!

You probably forgot to re-enable the onboard graphics in the BIOS? Try clearing the CMOS.
Definitely! Maybe your card isn't dead. I'd try it in another system. If it won't power up it may be the PSU. Lots cheaper than the GPU! :)Quote:
