shuttle barton 2500 does not like 3200+

Hi My shuttle will work fine running my Barton 2500 at 3200, all day but as long as it has been of for 30 mins or so, It wont boot from cold at 3200 speeds, I have the voltage at standard and the cpu health shows 50 -53 degrees c .If overclocked it to 200 bus yesterday and it ran all I did all day yesterday with no odd things happening. Its a 45g nforce 2 ultra model. with 512 3500 ram

I am wary of upping the voltages. as it seems hot already
I currently use a radeon 9200se in it and doom 3 will just about play at lowest quality. I can get a radeon pro for £70 would that make the unit too hot ? at 3200 speeds. once it has started at 3200 It seems to manage to run scisoft burn test for hours without faltering. Any ideas for quick and easy solution to this issue or an has anyone had similar issues and managed to reslove them thanks for getting this far reading this steve

What Radeon card is it? 9600, 9700, 9800?

its a 9700 pro 3D Prophet 9700 Pro 128Mb Graphics Card

An SN45G should be able to run a 3200 and a 9700Pro without issue - it's what I was doing until my 9700 crapped out - not because of this though

My CPU is a mobile, running at 1.625v @ 3200 (actually 2288 MHz = 208x11) - It sits at ~ 50 celsius idle (low fan) and 53-54 under load (full fan)

I bought an ATI 9700 pro from these guys a year ago (£160) and it's still going strong 12 months later oc at 360/330. I can still get good fps and res on most new games with xp2800,

I owned a Shuttle SN41G2 with a 2500+ desktop barton at 3200+ speeds, just upping the FSB from 166 to 200MHz, since it doesn't have any multiplier or voltage adjustments available in the BIOS. I too got the same kind of issue, with the system failing to boot from cold say one in 15 startups. Turn it on, everything sounds normal, but no POST.

Solution, just jab reset, it'll POST, enter BIOS, save and exit the overclocked settings again, and it'll reboot and run fine. No worries at all.

Now on the other note, I ran a 9800SE AIW @ 9800 Pro in mine whilst the 2500+ was running at 2.2GHz (3200+ speed) and the idle temp was 52-55°C and went up to 60-65° under load. I'm not worried about that at all. Although those temps are a lot better after having switched the standard power supply for the 250W SilentX shuttle replacement with the two fans. Lots quieter, and far better for temperatures.
