That dual Opteron Tyan SLI board would make one powerful workstation!
Welcome to the wonderful world of understatement, my friend;).Quote:

They look good :) Probably will skip this upgrade though, will wait for next chipset (don't see the point in upgrading just yet).
Doubt there will be a new chipset for the AMD 64 for a while after these come out.
Mmm, cant wait to get my hands on one :D
Well spotted. Reckon there'll be a couple of max-style fans there instead?:)Quote:

Looking at it more, its nice to see Abit have the same poor power connector placement as ever :rolleyes:
I mean, what the heck is the 4pin molex doing right at the bottom...really...
Just found out from Abits roadmap, that there will be 2 versions of the board. A "AN8 Fatal1ty" (has SLI by the looks of it) and "AN8-MAX". I dont know the exact differences, but im sure we can take educated guesses based on past MAX products.
I cant really see if it has sound ports on that board. Im hoping it doesnt. If i cant have soundstorm, ill buy an external soundcard - AC97 is a waste of space for the people who will be buying the enthusiast boards.
NF4 = no sound storm m8. :(
also won't touch the abit now cos the nguru crap...it don't work in linux :(
Yeah i know, hence why i said "If i cant have soundstorm" ;)
And didnt i provide you with a link about it in another thread ? :p
of course :pQuote:

Not impressed with anything i have seen.
All of these boards are so tempting, but I'm sticking with Socket A for now. I reckon I can hold on for about another year before I start not being able to run games if I slap a decent graphics card into my machine. That probably means I'll be looking at nForce 5, or whatever they decide to call it. Of course, I'll be turning green with envy while you all get to play with your Winchesters and Newcastles and shiny new nForce 4 boards :D
& this from someone who not so long ago was sooo Intel fanboi :pQuote:
