HDD thing
How strange is this?
Well - I have a 250GB hdd which I can boot a machine with, and copy the data off it - yet sometimes the system totally freezes? not sure wtf is happening....
In my IWill it won't even detect it.... :S
Wish it would bloody work everytime - I suspect the recent power cuts etc have damaged it, yet it still semi works - I am confused....

I had a Seagate like this. I think a bad platter was making the disk controller go ape. In any case, the controller was crashing out, freezing the system from time to time and failing to be detected on restart.
-
Hmm yet I have formatted it and Scan disked it
-
Formatted mine about 50 times (used it back when we were testing the Norton Ghost/disk space increase thing.) The problem always remained, and no test found a conclusive error.
-
Hmm, time to file it in the bin

I had a similar problem, where my PC would freeze with HDD LED on and the one of my drives would stop working completely, restarting would usually fail to detect the drive or would boot but same problem would happen again short while later.
However, if I opened the case, fiddled with the cables a little and booted up the problem is gone, and does not genereally reappear for months. So fairly rare.

RMA it explaining it, but make sure you write down serial number.

I can't RMA it ;)
It is a PROMOTIONAL ITEM NO RMA AT ALL (as the label says :()
Gonna call em and give it a go
all it means is 4 * 74 GB raptors for the main machine
and my iwill can have a 200 and a 250
