    Do we get a prize for guessing the processor?

    Looks like a 1.4Ghz T'bird to me - btw mate you need to change fsb in bios from 100 to 133

    Yeah, change the fsb to 133, either in the bios if you can, or on the motherboard - see the manual (or download the manual).
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Firstly, thanks very much to all those who have contributed to the above - much appreciated!

    As suggested, I've changed the FSB to 133MHz. I've also had the processor out and noted the following:

    AMD Socket 462 (dark brown)
    27016
    MB-DA-140801
    P-832

    L1 IIII II L2
    L3 IIII

    On chip core:
    AMD Athlon
    A1400AMS3C
    AYHJA 0126RPLW
    Y6526930138
    1999 AMD

    Does this help clear it up once and for all?

    That's from the same week and same stepping as a tbird 1400 Ive had for years but different letters after the week/year - did 1730 MHz on 1.85v stableish and could get into Windows just over 1900 ish on 2.0v iirc. Shame that it isn't in a good enough board and the cooling is far from suitable for pushing it anymore however.

    Seems like quite a nice little processor but as you say, a weak board. Anyway, many thanks for the help clearing this one up. The PC has now been sold
