Given that there is really no price premium on dual layer drives you might as well have the ability imho.
I bought an NEC 2510a and so have plenty of my friends, it's a nice drive. The 3500 is supposed to be half decent too.
I have no intention of using Dual Layer media yet as I am still waiting for a loan from the IMF in order to purchase some.
Having the option to use DL media when it becomes reasonably priced is worth the small (if any) extra cost of a DL drive.

found some dual layer 10x-16x speed for around £50-55 so prob get one. THanks guys
