Upgrading Laptop Memory
Hi everyone please help!
I have just bought 2*512 GEIL Golden Dragon SODIMM Memory Modules for my Acer Travelmate 8006LMi, but I cant for the life of me work out where to install the second module.
The first one was easy, flip the laptop upsidown and the module is there on the bottom of the laptop. However there is only one module there and this laptop definately has two modules.
So here's my question: Where is the second module and how the hell do I get to it. I would guess it is under the keyboard but how do I get to it from there!!
Please help, Thanks

Shouldn't this be detailed in the product manual?
To get the keyboard off it would probably mean removing the bottom plate and trying to get at the keyboard - but sounds quite dodgy to me.
Good luck in getting this sorted!
Are you sure there isn't some ram soldered onto the main board? (hence there infact being 2 but only 1 is user serviceable...)

thanks for the reply.
I have found out how to take the keyboard off and success! The ram module/holder was there! It was actually quite easy to take the keyboard off. All you have to do is remove some screws by the lcd hinge bit and remove some more screws on the bottom of the laptop with a 'K' next to them!
My lovely laptop now has 1GB of RAM! It performs amazingy!
As for the soldered RAM, I have heard of laptops having this, but only laptops with integrated graphics have this. I'm safe tho as I have radeon 9700 128MB in my lappy! They solder RAM onto the mobo to make sure the user never removes enough RAM for the machine not to boot (because the graphics chip needs some). My friend has a 64MB integrated graphics laptop and 128MB is soldered on for safety i guess.
