SATA & PATA in the same box (cross post)

Sorry for the cross post (from Hexus Help), but not sure which forum best for this query...

I am building a pc based on an AMD FX53 and MSI K8N Neo2 m/b and wanted to know whether it is possible to have an SATA HD and a PATA HD running alongside eack other without probs - the SATA (a Seagate) would be the boot/apps drive, and the PATA (also a Seagate Barracuda/8Mb cache) would simply be storage.

Need to get this baby up and running b4 HL2 hits the shelves (hard to preload without an HD...)

    TIA
