Any SteelSeries Apex [RAW] users around?

I just picked up one of these and it seems pretty good apart from one issue - the LHS of the space bar is very noisy. Not just compared to other keys but also compared to the middle or RHS of the same key.

All the other presses sound pretty similar and so I'm wondering if this is by design or a fault on this unit? It's an order of magnitude louder than other presses.

Given that most strikes on this key are going to be thumbed LHS while the hand rests on WASD, I want to sort this out sharpish. Since the US is having hols this weekend I thought I would ask here rather than wait for a response to a ticket.

Otherwise it's a nice device.
