External Power Supplys
Ive had it with the Shuttle SS51G burnt out two so far, and luckily both have been replaced under warranty.
Does anyone know where to buy an external 350W+ Power supply for a decent price?
The 200W Shuttle power supply cannot run an ATI 9700PRO and DDR 333mhz Correctly. I dont care what anyone says, eventually the motherboard/PSU burns out. Its happened twice, and now my warrenty is up... So its external PSU... Can someone help me source a cheap external PSU?

My system spec was :
1 x P4 2.4ghz 533MHz
1 x Radeon 9700 Pro (ATI Branded)
1Gb DDR333MHz TwinMOS
1 x 80GB Seagate Barracuda
Burnt out one Radeon due to heat and two shuttles already.
It can cope... itll burn out, greatly reduced lifespan on your components too. Speaking from months of experience here.

i got a 2.4c too. ( we almost got same systems ;) )
i'll take note. i looked up mbm and it was reporting temps of upto 80C pc was left on and theres no problems. so i think its ok.

i ve had me p4 2.o @ 2239 gig +radeon 9500 pro dvd-cdrw drive and 2 3.5 80gb hdd , 1gb 2700 crucial and 2 very slim but noisey fans on both sides of the case. pc has more or less been on 24/7 for over a year and no burn out.

Yaka, thats a good mod, fans on both side to combat the high temperatures due to the psu.
Has anyone actually got any ideas for me? I need to buy an external 350w or higher Psu for this unit... Anyone know any online sites to get these at?

Had no problems what so ever here and Ive been running various shuttles for a long time now. Basically the only reason I see for having an external PSU is noise and I'm using a QTEC 550 watt jobba which I had spare whilst I mod my PSU.
