Laptop LED screen as monitor, through HDMI

I what to connect a LED laptop screen to the HDMI port of a laptop.

can anyone point me in the right direction.

This doesn't have to be pretty, as i see that i may have to make the cable. So would need thinks like screen and HDMI pin outs.

I am guessing that i would need to send power to the screen from a different point.

any idea's or cables that might help.

The cable is the least of your problems, you will need a controller board suitable for the lcd panel as they are built onto laptop motherboards. http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/njytouch that ebay user will likely have what you need to output it to whatever you need.

Depending on the quality of the panel you plan to use, I would rather spend a bit extra and get a real monitor, not as cool, but not as easy to damage and alot cleaner looking.

The plan is to make a dual monitor laptop, both screens being full 1920 x 1080.
so size will be a problem.

I have a dell i5 mobo, with hdmi. I want to hard wire in the 2nd screen.

have not decided what laptop casing i am going to use but will not be using a dvd drive so will have some spare space in the case
